John Bachar

John Bachar (23 марта 1957 - 5 июля 2009 года). Вырос в Лос-Анджелесе, познакомился с лазанием в районе Stoney Point.

Сделал имя в Йосемитах пройдя без веревки New Dimensions (5.11a) and The Nabisco Wall, a three-pitch affair (Waverly Wafer (5.10c), Butterballs (5.11c), Butterfingers (5.11a))

в 1981 он предложил 10000$ любому, кто сможет следовать за ним во время дня фри-соло лазания. Никто не осмелился...

в 1986 вместе с Peter Croft соединяет две линии на El Capitan и Half Dome, пройдя более чем вертикальную милю за 14 часов.

в 1990 фри-соло на Enterprise (5.12b), Owens River Gorge и The Gift (5.12c), Red Rocks для Masters of Stone

5 июля 2009, по свидетельствам друзей, Джон погиб во время попытки фри-соло прохождения очередной линии в домашнем Dike Wall возле Mammoth Lakes.
